The Treeants are ok, but they are a little too tentacle nectar feely for me. The fish are cute but be careful they don't impregnate you.
However, they were so demanding, I told them to go fly a kite. Maybe the Paragon are really like Enclave in Fallout3 and can help with superior tech. During the VG first scenario I thought, ok, I'll help them out, try to put the galaxy back together again. They do like the finest stuff though, so they and the syndicate are probably similar that way. I mean they make undead noises when you click on their units.
They remind me of the undead NPCs in AOWIII that you could make friends with. Yeah the Paragon are clearly meant to seem creepy, like Necromancy lite. What a great OP! I struggled with this as well.
